Liberec, pop. 100 000, is the capital of Northern Bohemia and lies 10 km from the pension. It is connected by tramway and bus line to Jablonec. This city, lying as it does beneath the world renowned Jested hotel on the peak of the mountain bearing the same name has plenty to offer the visitor from sports facilities to theatre, cinema, the oldest zoo in Bohemia, botanical gardens, historical sites and vast shopping centres. |

Due to its natural beauty it was declared an protected landscape area, the first of its kind, in 1955 by the former republic. It offers delightful hiking, cycle paths, climbing opportunities and sites of cultural heritage. It lies approximately 20 km from the pension. |
